Originating from Lago del Desierto, located 37 kilometers north of El Chaltén, the river flows southward, eventually merging into Lago Viedma after receiving contributions from numerous glacial rivers.Along the journey, participants paddle through native forests and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding hills, glaciers, and the majestic Fitz Roy massif towering in the distance. The total route covers approximately 7.5 miles (12 km) and takes around 1.5 to 2 hours from its starting point on the right bank of Laguna Cóndor to Estancia Bonanza.

The river belongs to the Santa Cruz River Basin, and most of its water comes from glacier melt in the northern area of Los Glaciares National Park. It originates in Lago del Desierto (506 m above sea level) and flows into Lago Viedma (250 m above sea level).Requirements: Participants must be over 12 years old. Pregnant women, individuals with heart conditions, or those who have recently undergone surgery are not permitted to participate.
